A typical English Toy Spaniel usually weighs ten lbs, give or take a few pounds. They have a gorgeous flowing coat which can be colored red and white, tricolor, black and tan, and a deep red. These coats make them extremely cuddly. They may be prone to eye and heart conditions; luxating patella can be found in the breed, too. Members of the breed are typically loyal and sweet. Most are well-behaved around children, but just like any other dog, they require training and supervision. Always be careful with any dog when they are around children. In addition, children should be careful around this breed because they are small and thus, delicate.
The English Toy Spaniel breed originated in England during the time of the
Renaissance. They were originally breed to be companions for humans of royal blood.
